There is a whole "ecosystem" of companies/entities and individuals illegally profiting from online intellectual property theft. While privacy protections and free speech are important hallmarks of a civilized society, so is protecting the rights of property owners.
Under the legal systems of virtually all countries, property owners might as well be living in the Wild Wild West. The current state of affairs reminds us of Dodge City before the Earps arrived. Bad guys running around indiscriminately robbing law abiding citizens blind.
Surely, that is not what we have to suffer to adequately protect privacy and free speech. Surely there is a balance somewhere.
